Location

Lulworth, the village and the cove, are steeped in the most fascinating history which is a reflection of the history of Dorset itself. The perfect horseshoe shaped cove with its geology laid bare in the contorted rock strata which, in part, has earned the coastline its world heritage status is also the stuff of romantic myth and seafaring history.

This is Enid Blyton country with stories of smugglers and adventure, secret coves and unspoilt countryside. Dorset at its best. There are miles and miles of bridleways and footpaths, as diverse in landscape as they are numerous. In winter you can walk for hours and barely meet a soul.

Dorset is however accessible to London and the Home Counties in a matter of a few hours whether by car or train. A mainline railway service connects Wool to London Waterloo with an express service in just under three hours.

The bustling centres of Bournemouth and  Poole are close enough to commute to and host a variety of commerce and industry. More traditionally the County Town of Dorchester, the Casterbridge of Hardy's novels with its Georgian High Street is close by and likewise the market town of Wareham with its pretty Wharf and Saturday market.
