East Stoke is a lovely Purbeck hamlet, located a short distance due east of the village of Wool situated along the River Frome in beautiful countryside set a few miles back from the Jurassic Coastline.

The local village of Wool provides a number of shops for everyday provisions including a village grocery and a general store, butcher, baker, post office and pharmacist. There are a number of excellent village pubs and restaurants in the area as well.

This is Dorset at its best. There are miles and miles of bridleways and footpaths, as diverse in landscape as they are numerous. In winter you can walk or ride for hours and barely meet a soul.

Dorset is however accessible to London and the Home counties in a matter of a few hours whether by car or train. A mainline railway service connects Wool to London Waterloo with an express service in just under three hours.

There are airports at Bournemouth, Southampton and Exeter offering flights to UK and European destinations.

The bustling centres of Bournemouth and Poole are close enough to commute to and host a variety of commerce and industry.

More traditionally the market town of Wareham with its pretty wharf and Saturday market is close by to the east and to the west the County Town of Dorchester, the Casterbridge of Hardy's novels with its Georgian High Street is also close by.
